Health and Safety

At R S Electrical Services, we believe that health & Safety shouldn’t just be about legislation it should be a way of life.

There are 3 reasons for Health & Safety regulations:

The legal reasons for health and safety are mainly defined by the Health and Safety Act, 1974, implemented by the government as well as other regulation and acts.

Morally, as an employee or an employer you have a duty of care to the people around you, whether it’s your workforce, colleagues or members of the public it’s important to be conscious of the health and safety regulations.

At R S Electrical Services we take Health and Safety seriously and this is monitored by our Health and Safety team, headed by our Consultant John Gilpin and implemented by our management and administration team.

We were recently featured in the ‘Connections’ magazine for NICEIC registered contractors because of our efforts to achieve a high standard of health and safety.

“They’re trying to ensure that if they’re asked by a large organisation to show them their policy or any other relevant document they’ve got all the answers. They’re very keen to do the right thing, this is half the battle” – John Gilpin at Essential Health and Safety Services as featured in NICEIC Connections Magazine.

As a company we take all reasonable steps to meet this responsibility, paying particular attention to the provision and maintenance of:

  • A safe place of work and safe access in and out.
  • A healthy working environment.
  • Plant, equipment and systems of work that are safe.
  • Safe arrangements for the use, handling, storage and transport of articles and substances.
  • Sufficient information, instruction, training and supervision to enable all employees to avoid hazards and contribute positively to their own safety and health at work.
  • Risk Assessments/Method Statements with appropriate preventive and protective measures to eliminate or significantly reduce workplace hazards.
